Incidents from April 27th to May 4th
The week from 04/27 to 05/04 recorded 28 incidents in Oiapoque, with a focus on homicide, drug trafficking, domestic violence, and crimes against children.
Homicide on the morning of May 1st
On Thursday morning, May 1st, around 5 am, a man was admitted to the Hospital Estadual de Oiapoque with stab wounds, dying hours later. According to information gathered by the authorities, the victim was at his residence, in a kitchenette village, when he was allegedly assaulted by an acquaintance who was with him. The case was registered as simple homicide and remains under investigation by the Civil Police.
Drug trafficking: two arrests this week
In the fight against drug trafficking, two arrests were made in flagrante delicto this week. On Monday (27), the Civil Police, following an anonymous tip, arrested a man in the Beiradão region, an area known for drug dealing, with marijuana, cocaine, and crack in his possession. On Tuesday (28), the Military Police caught another suspect in the Nova Esperança neighborhood, who, according to the tip that prompted the approach, was selling narcotics. The man was apprehended at his residence, where drugs and precision scales were found. Both cases are still under investigation.
Domestic violence: three reports this week
A violência doméstica voltou a marcar a semana com três ocorrências. Na quarta-feira (30), uma mulher relatou ter sido agredida fisicamente por seu companheiro, sofrendo estrangulamento e sendo arremessada contra a parede. A vítima conseguiu fugir e pedir ajuda, resultando na prisão em flagrante do agressor. No domingo (3), outra mulher foi agredida por seu companheiro com socos e chutes em um balneário na BR-156, sofrendo diversas escoriações. A vítima foi socorrida pela Polícia Rodoviária Federal (PRF) e solicitou medidas protetivas de urgência, demonstrando temor pela própria vida. Em ambos os casos, as autoridades adotaram as providências previstas na Lei Maria da Penha.
Serious crime against children on Sunday
The most serious incident of the week was reported on Sunday (3), in a resort in the urban area. Three children were victims of criminal acts perpetrated by a man who, according to reports, was intoxicated. The case was registered as rape of a vulnerable person, sexual harassment, and attempted murder. The children were attended to by the competent authorities. Due to the involvement of minors, no data that would allow the identification of the victims will be disclosed, as determined by the Child and Adolescent Statute (ECA, Art. 143). The case is under investigation.
Arrest warrants, thefts and other occurrences
The week also recorded the execution of two arrest warrants by the PRF, both on Wednesday (30): a man convicted of rape of a vulnerable person and a passenger approached on a bus. On Thursday (2), the Military Police attended to an occurrence of disturbing the peace with minors consuming alcoholic beverages, resulting in the arrest of the person responsible for the property. In the field of accidents and thefts, a traffic accident on BR-156 on Monday (27) left a man with a fractured arm. Two thefts were recorded on Wednesday (30): one by breaking and entering into a residence and another of a wheel and tire from a vehicle at a tire shop on BR-156, with the suspect arrested and the material recovered by the Military Police.
